The Lake District in Cumbria is a world heritage site and one of the country’s major tourist attractions. It has been popular since Victorian times  and while the poet Wordsworth may have sown an attractive image in the mind of a host of golden daffodils,  in 2019 the host of cars and humanity that almost overwhelmed you.

The best way to avoid the traffic jams and the crowds was to come by coach and get out on to the Lake.
